myspace friend Marlon from Berlin

He's such a kool guy - lives in Berlin and has a love for electronic music - he composes his own tracks and now has videos... I'd love to party with the guy some day :-)

Myspace

I just cleaned up my blogs over an myspace...leaving just a few of the funnier more memorable ones to reflect on. Things are definitely not the same over there. Life as I knew it (in myspace) is no more. A few key people who I felt I connected with are either on Facebook or have dropped off somewhere. I have emails of others who I will contact and hopefully keep in touch. I like the simplicity of Facebook, but hate how boring it is. At least with myspace you visit a profile and each one is radically different from the next. Getting there in one click used to be a problem, now it appears Facebook is lagging much like Myspace was back in the Spring of last year (06). So as I listen to the beautiful voice of Wayne Jackson (http://www.myspace.com/waynejackson or www.waynejackson.de), 'Everything is Beautiful'. I am anxiously waiting for a solo album to hit Itunes or atleast be available here. I was almost tempted to book a flight to Berlin - but now that I am going to put a deposit on a female pug this week, I think my place is at home while I prepare the meeting of Duchess and Silas. Duchess...maybe, maybe not. I want to name her, all my pets have been named by friends, for once I want to name her. And I can't name her Coco.. Gabi (Gabrielle).. oh well, I have a few days to decide. Hopefully all goes well.

The Problem of Too Many Friends

So I have been after my friends to get signed up on MySpace so we can share this experience (pls note the word 'experience'). One did sign up finally, and has seven friends. She hasn't done a thing to her page, hasn't logged on since the 27th. And its not that she doesn't have internet, they do. My beef: if you didn't want to sign up, why did you waste my time in showing you everything, then don't put the effort to learn yourself on what this is all about. I don't jump into something without doing a little backgrounder on it first. I would expect any intelligent person to do this. Okay, so that's fine, whatever. The second one, I had to do the same thing, and I'm like, you hear me talking about this ~ why the hell don't you go on look around and make your own decision if you want sign up. She's all excited about the idea of doing something, however, what they both don't realise is - its a networking, social community, much like MSN, AOL etc. In other words, a place to meet people. I admit, the idea of getting as many friends was inviting, and I eagerly spent a few days - clicking add me, add me, and building up my 'friends'. It was not until I actually started to get to know people, that I realised, its hard to keep up with hundreds of people, and eventually created a second profile for fun crazy nuts stuff. I chose people based on common interests, spending time looking for people who I thought I would click with, and the choices have all been 'bang' on. That's over six months or more. So here comes, new friend # 2, starts clicking away at all my 'choice' friends, with absolutely no thought as to how I would feel esp when one of them is someone who I am actively pursuing. There is no wrong with that, but I don't like sharing - I'm selfish (hey at least I'm honest!). Maybe I should have kept my space mine. Am I being a jealous bitch, no, but its like copying someone's space and claiming it as your own. So that's my rant for today... (yeah, stupid now...)

oh my g-d!!! myspace is driving me crazy

I can't believe that I allow this crap to consume every free moment I have. Its ridiculous really! I have only a handful of friends that I communicate with and I am thinking that I might just post my email on the site- because I can't believe that all the bullshit about power outages and databases are the problem. I know there is something else here. I understand NewsCorp purchased this last year, and only in the last part of 2005 did the media start running stories on the success of this social networking community. If this was purchased by such a media mogul, why all the unprofessional and crappy work? Who the hell is working on this - I wouldn't be surprised if they have kids working in basements out in the deep jungles of India or the Siberian wilderness - re-creating this stuff, it doesn't add up. Its quite possible. With MSN and Yahoo and AOL - and Google - all having servers (i think) in the same area, why were they not affected? No, there is much more here, and I am convinced its relocating its shit outside the USA, to be more cost-effective.

myspace sucks

I have been experiencing problems for four days now. I am fed up with it. This morning I thought I lost my profile again, but this time, I just changed my 'top 8' and voila, there it was. On Monday, I logged in, and my profile was gone. Absolutely riduculous. Bullshit about the power outage. the fucking idiot that bought myspace is a fucking gazillionaire, no bloody way, it continues to lag in service. Fucking asshole Murdoch. This guy is a first rate capitalist. Have you seen Outfoxed? Watch it and learn...

My Space

I am addicted to MySpace. I've neglected doing my own web page, now I spend all my time looking for 'friends' people who interest me - share interests, and what's really great about this is I am really starting to 'know me' - or rather have a clearer understanding of who I am and what I want.
Photobucket - Video and Image HostingI read all these profiles and I think,g~d this is too weird, I am not the only one or someone else out there likes the same things. its been tremendous in relieving stress from work, I get stressed, I logon, and suddenly I am among 'friends'. Okay, so its a bit stretched - for now, its better than spending money i don't have on ebay or amazon.
