It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…

This year, I am going to be more prepared and in the festive spirit. And there will be no ‘spirits’ this year, it’s time to put them to rest and don’t look back. Enough of that already. Since January 31, I have lost 37 lbs which is unbelievable, but I know once the Wegovy ends, I’ll likely gain 10 lbs back, but hopefully no more. I need to increase the movement and strength training because I am losing muscle. I must get to that gym.

These pugs are so darn cute and Moana has a voice that I really should record. She can be very loud and it’s hilarious to listen to her. I need to incorporate more walks during the day because they need to get outdoors. It’s not too cold for them right now, so it’s ideal weather. Later when it is colder and there’s snow on the ground, they may not want to get out - although something tells me that Moana will still want to get out. I wish I had a house with a backyard that she can run around. Sometimes I feel like I should just give them up to a family that will take them out and feed them properly; not like how I look after them. Walks that last 20 minutes, and feeding them anything with lots of treats throughout the day. I only have to think about my baby Cosette to see how wrong that is. I really need to stop it.

I need a new job or something that I can be accountable to me only. The workforce are being forced back to the office 4 days now and managers are not able to have AWA’s so my 2 days per week, is now 4 and I can’t flex my hours either. This is fucking bullshit - the entire workforce has managed hybrid for 5 years with no issues, but no, fat fuck wants everyone to hang around a fucking water cooler shooting the shit. Like who does that - it’s not the fucking eighties dickhead. I hope ON wakes up and votes this crook in the next election in fucking 6 years. He and his other cons are milking the public purse and our tax dollars, and no one gives a fuck. I should move to my reserve so I don’t pay fucking taxes.

It’s 07:34 and I’m sitting at work, no one is around. For a workplace that is back to the office 4 days a week, I’ve seen maybe 8-10 people in my office - out of the 40 or so that should be here. This is bullshit. These unionized workers can come in whenever, and if I dare to say to my staff to get in - I’ll be the bitch.

Later.

I'm off to London

After several weeks of hymming and hawing, I have decided on a trip to London (UK). I've never been before and I can't wait! I have been busy planning everything (or close to it) I want to see. Cashed in some a/p miles and hopefully (g-d willing) all will be fine. I am very much afraid that I will be stuck at the airport and...well, I shouldn't think that way. Anyhow, it is going to be brilliant! It's only 6 days, but that is plenty of time! It will give me a chance to find some small little hole in the wall to stay in next time. It is going to be weird not heading to Paris or Berlin this time around. I may head to Paris for xmas - or Berlin... who knows - maybe south for some sun.

summer time

I have completed my assignments finally, well, early and I don't give a toss if they barely pass - its finished. i am planning vacation on august 5 - for just under 2 weeks, and I was hoping to go to Paris and Berlin - I need to email Anne in Paris for accomo's and then Andreas - if either are not available, I won't be going...

I just signed up with Google Lively - its froze my computer twice... but then again I think its my sound card that's screwing up. Itunes did the same thing and something on myspace as well.

I miss my online friends. I haven't been on facebook in almost a week... wow, and the planet didn't fall out of alignment!

January 21 - Blue Monday?

According to some British scientist, Monday was supposed to be the most depressing day. Well, I for one, was not tip toeing through the tulips that day. Here's what the CBC had to say on this...

With the TSX plunging more than 500 points on Monday morning, more than a few Canadians might give credence to a British psychologist's pseudo-scientific formula that indicates Jan. 21 will be the most depressing day of 2008.

Cliff Arnall began calculating the happiest and gloomiest days of the year back in 2005 while working as a professor at Cardiff University in Wales.

At the behest of the British travel industry, Arnall devised a "Blue Monday" formula that calculates factors such as weather, debt, time passed since Christmas, failed New Year's resolutions, low motivation and the need to take action.

While there is no scientific support for Arnall's theory — some might find the formula 1/8W+(D-d)3/8xTQMxNA itself too depressing even to contemplate — anyone suffering from the winter blues or just a bad case of the Mondays can take comfort in the fact that they aren't alone.

Health Canada estimates two to three per cent of Canadians suffer from seasonal affective disorder (SAD) and another 15 per cent of Canadians suffer from a milder version simply known as the winter blues.

These seasonal conditions can affect moods, sleep patterns, appetites, energy levels and concentration. Exercise, experts say, is the best way to keep seasonal depression at bay.

Here are a few tips from Health Canada:

  • If you are already active, try to maintain or increase your level of physical activity.
  • Exercise outdoors during daylight hours.
  • If indoors, exercise by a window.
  • Build activity into your lifestyle, for example, by taking the stairs or public transit and walking part of the way to work.
Hmmm, that explains the 'light lamp' my boss had sitting on her desk today...

Don't get me started on moods. I should be an expert by now, especially all the money, time and pills I've seen in my younger years (gee, did I just say that?)

anyhow, as I deal with cultural confusion, debating whether to get back into therapy - whatever I decide to do, I really need to focus on it this year.

family day

is the 3rd Monday in February and is a stat holiday! Yeah!!!!

still trying to figure out what geo-tracking software is - I think ITV made that up because I told them I would install an ip anon surf software...to view their website.

Dear viewer

Thank you for your recent query. In order to protect the rights of artists, writers, musicians and companies that invest in films and TV shows, there are restrictions on
what videos we are able to show outside the UK. We hope this may change in the future but in the meantime our services are using geo-blocking software to prevent access from outside the United Kingdom.

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Kind regards

so this is xmas

I love this time of the year. Last week, while walking around in Holt Renfrew, I came upon their potpourri scent of cinnamon and apple. I snatched up the last package (which contained room spray and candle. I can't describe what I feel when I smell this but it reminds me of good thoughts... Certain scents bring about all these emotions from yesteryear - a time in my life when things were, well, not as they are today. This is my therapy. Anyhow, I also picked up a gift set of Agent Provocateur (pictured), oh my g~d, this is wonderful! I love it! It came with some lotion (that provides a slight sheen when worn) and bath gel.

Death

Because I could not stop for Death

BECAUSE I could not stop for Death--
He kindly stopped for me--
The Carriage held but just Ourselves--
And Immortality.

We slowly drove--He knew no haste
And I had put away
My labour and my leisure too,
For His Civility--

We passed the School, where Children strove
At Recess--in the Ring--
We passed the Fields of Gazing Grain--
We passed the Setting Sun--

Or rather--He passed Us--
The Dews drew quivering and chill--
For only Gossamer, my Gown--
My Tippet--only Tulle--

We paused before a House that seemed
A Swelling of the Ground--
The Roof was scarcely visible--
The Cornice--in the Ground--

Since then--'tis Centuries--and yet
Feels shorter than the Day
I first surmised the Horses Heads
Were toward Eternity--
